When first starting an interview you can easily catch the behavior of the interviewee, for example see whats he/she is wearing, is it clean? because he could have just been at a bar and have stains.
How the person presents them selves is really important look at what kind of shoes are they wearing. You can also listen to their tone of voice are the sad, exited, mad? Also are they distracted for example are they on their phone?
2. Do: Asking key questions relevant to your topic
Say you get the chance to interview a really important person like the head of the UN, you aren’t going to ask him “hey how’s your family bob” no you’re going to want to ask him questions like how is the UN helping to save lives in the middle east? Does the UN have a budget or support for peace keeping missions?
3. Do: Pursue only truth, no sneaky stuff
It is very important to only pursue the truth, because you can get your self in some hot water if you’re caught misleading someone, or even publishing something that is isn’t true and defames whomever you’re talking about.
4. Do: Record everything
Very simple step to help you become a very successful interviewer, simply record everything being said with anything can record voices also record what was worn and the environment.
In addition you can record what day of the week it is to you could even record the time of day.
5. Don’t: Make assumptions
Never make assumptions, cause they can be wrong and once you make an assumption on someone and it’s made public.
You could get yourself once again in very hard situations to get out of so only make concrete statements when plenty of facts to back it up.
6. Do: Fact-check all your information
In our opinion possibly the most important interview technique here, you must always fact check your information, and be very weary of where you get your information from.
Even when trump says he’s the best president of American history (please fact check something like that).
